Impact of COVID 19 on textile industry and how BLX overcome this crisis
2020 is the year world fighting against corona virus pandemic year. And there is no doubt that the global economy is going through a lot much ups and downs due to this crisis. In China, Textiles industry is one of the traditional industry and its export volume accounts a great portion in the international market. As the situation getting worse in global world of the COVID 19 many home textile companies in China was under great pressure due to exporting orders cut down. Including us -Bailixin Home Textile, 80% of our company revenue goes to exporting each year. So how did we overcome this crisis and continuing growing even at this situation?
*What did we do when China at worst in Feb.~March
Overseas: Tell customers about situation in China and postpone orders delivery time and hold on new order plans.
Domestically: Work with government to provide and donate towels, blanket products to hospitals and medical teams.
In around 1 month time, the situation was controlled in China most provinces and factory is back to work gradually. But then from Apr. the situation in Europe getting serious, then to the world.
* What we did in Apr. -May
Overseas: Talk with clients see if still able to proceed on going orders and shipment. Sourcing and producing masks and gown medical supplies to our partners and customers
Domestically: Develop new tech. Fabric towel, the anti-bacterial towels to support domestic market potential with 6 million pcs towel orders to cover the lost in international market.
These 2 months COVID 19 outburst in worldwide, most countries shut down all activities, we were able to keep full load production because domestic support.
* What we did in June. -July
By June 2020, most countries like Europe and Asia countries get the situation in control, and economy is getting normal gradually.
Overseas: Bailixin team participate online canton fair with new many bedspread new designs to introduce to customers, successfully expand new cooperation in Korea, Japan, Russia, US, Spain, Israel, Chile and etc.
Domestically keep exploring new opportunities and start cooperation with supermarket chains on kitchen towel order with qty up to 10 million pcs.
The arrival of COVID 19 have definitely affected the global economy growth including textile market, it is not just the pandemic named COVID 19, but the change after this pandemic have make a severe impact on the consumer trend, market preference and so on. There is no way to avoid such impacts, the only way to survive and growing is to face it, adapt to it and then conquer it.
